During my 16 years of teaching, I've been frequently suprised and worried by the amount of students coming to me who have experienced poor teaching and misinformation from other voice teachers. The profession is still unregulated, so anyone can set up as a singing teacher or vocal coach. This is both a blessing and a curse, and while none of us can be perfect or infallible, we can (and I argue, should) arm ourselves with as much information and training as possible before taking on students of any kind.

I've launched this teacher training course because I am passionate about spreading the correct information, based on the vocal science available. Aside from technical and anatomical knowledge, I believe any singing teacher should have an awareness of vocal pedagogy...the nuts and bolts of teaching, learning and best practice. Voices need careful nurturing and managing, especially young/growing voices, older voices and anyone experiencing a vocal issue. Teachers without the relevant knowledge and training run the risk of harming the voices they work with permanently by establishing or reinforcing poor habits, being unaware of when to refer a singer to a medical professional or simply by skimping on the fundamentals.

This singing teacher training course is about just that, the fundamentals. Everything you need to get started with confidence, or top-up on your existing skills. Not only does extra training improve lessons for the students, it's also likely to make your teaching experience more enjoyable and rewarding too!

Unlike many other courses, this course is delivered 100% in-person, giving you the opportunity to work practically in the room with a small cohort of (max) 10 people. You will also recieve a follow-up 1-1 session, scheduled online to check in with your progress after completion.

Please do get in touch if you'd like to know more or to book your place...
